I always liked Jens Pulver, and I thought that he'd be the guy to FINALLY and soundly take on Faber, but fucking hell. He was unable to ANYTHING. That kid will be the king of the 145s for as long as he wants the job. If a dropped-weight Pulver can't take him out? Who the fuck else will be able to do it? Then again, it's a big class with a lot more people joining all the time, so we shall see.
Five rounds. Wow. If Pulver had gotten his gas back in the fifth instead of Faber, maybe there'd have been a different result?
Anyway - good fight. -

Wed, June 4, 2008 - 12:32 PMIn a perfect world (where cross promotion isn't a fantasy, but a reality) a fight between Kid Yamamoto and Faber would be awesome. Beyond that, you're right...Faber's gonna keep the strap as long as he wants. -

Thu, June 5, 2008 - 8:14 PMI'm sure this bout opened Dana White's eyes, at least a little bit. There needs to be a 145lbs weight class in the UFC. -

As I understand it, UFC owns that league anyway, so I imagine that after they are done with their contractual obligations to VS channel, they'll be melded into the UFC. -

Re: Faber V Pulver
Fri, June 6, 2008 - 7:33 AMI don't know about that. The WEC is kinda like a AAA league farm system for the UFC. It gives them a chance to sort of test out up and coming fighters, or give more experienced fighters a chance to rebuild their careers. As a second promotion it gives the Zuffa a bigger sphere of influence in the mma world. Although I do hope that they move to a different channel once their contract w/ Vs is up. -
